Morning pickup from Moshi or Arusha hotel. Drive to Materuni village, located at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Begin a scenic guided hike (about 45–60 minutes) through lush coffee plantations, banana groves, and rainforest trails to the impressive 80-meter Materuni Waterfall. Arrive at the waterfall and enjoy time to swim and relax in the natural pool at the base. Return hike to the village. Participate in a hands-on traditional Chagga coffee tour: learn the full bean-to-cup process – picking ripe cherries, pulping, fermenting, drying, roasting over fire, grinding, and brewing. Taste freshly made Chagga coffee. Enjoy an authentic traditional lunch prepared by local families (usually ugali, vegetables, beans, banana stew, and fresh fruits). Learn about Chagga culture, farming practices, and daily village life. Afternoon free for photos, village walk, or more coffee tasting. Return to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha in the late afternoon.
